Custom APN no longer works after upgrading to iOS 9

If you're an enterprise administrator of iOS devices, your Access Point Name (APN) might not work in iOS 9 unless you deliver your configuration profile as part of a Cellular payload. You can define a custom Access Point Name (APN) for cellular data access using either of two different configuration profile payloads – APN or Cellular. In iOS 9 you currently must use a Cellular payload for your APN profile. In older iOS release you used an APN Payload.
Apple plans to address this issue in a software update.
If you have an APN profile that uses an APN payload, you should update it to use a Cellular payload before updating to iOS 9. If you don't, users of your previous payload will lose cellular data access.

The APN payload was deprecated by Apple with iOS 7 and is with iOS 9 no longer valid.
Hint: Our MDM solution mobile.profiler is using since iOS 7 the "new" Cellular payload.
